How this shortlist is built
Your study level and state are matched against each scheme's own record. A scheme with no state attached is a central government, foundation or private programme open to students anywhere in India, so it stays in your list whichever state you pick.
Income is handled more carefully, because most schemes do not state a single figure. Of the 78 schemes here, some name one clear ceiling, some say outright that there is no income limit, and the rest set different limits for different communities, require a BPL card, or tell you to confirm the current figure on the portal. Where the rule is one clear number we tell you whether your band sits under it. Where it is not, the scheme still appears — under worth checking — with its rule quoted word for word. We would rather show you a scheme you turn out not to qualify for than hide one you did.
Why we do not ask your caste or community
Most Indian scholarships are defined by community — SC, ST, OBC, EBC, minority, and so on — so leaving it out may look like an omission. It is deliberate. Our records name a community for some schemes and not others, and a scheme that does not mention one is not necessarily open to everybody; it may simply be recorded in less detail. If we filtered on that we would be guessing, and a wrong guess tells a student they are ineligible for money they could have had. So every result prints its own eligibility sentence instead, and you read the condition yourself.
Always check the official portal
Award amounts, income ceilings and application windows are revised, and schemes are occasionally withdrawn between cycles. Treat this shortlist as the starting point for your own check, never as confirmation that you qualify. Every scheme page links to the portal that actually accepts the application.
